My last year of skiing was 2010-2011. I was happy to end this on a high note, which were the Oslo world championships. That was such an amazing venue as a racer especially as I transitioned out of being an athlete to becoming a coach.

I was not sure exactly was I was going to do after skiing, but I had a couple meetings in the later part of the race calendar with Mike Cavaliere about the idea to coaching along side him and the AWCA ski team. I was very intrigued because I love the sport. I also want to help us become better as a nation. It was a great fit with Mike and Chris. I have known both of them for a long time and the group of athletes is exactly who I wanted to work with. I remember being that age and not having any one to learn or talk to about how to make the next steps, we had to figure out how to makes those steps on our own. I hope to help the next generation's make those next steps quicker, stronger, faster and more confidently. I live in Canmore, which is amazing place and is one of the best places in the world to be an athlete and coach. We have everything we need to be an amazing ski nation.

To help me become better as a coach I have been taking course via CCC and all that is offered through them. I am also enrolled at the University of Calgary/Winsport taking my National Coaching diploma. I am really enjoying taking this because so many other coaches from every other sport, but cross-country skiing, surround me. Always good discussions and different ways of thinking and doing.

I have also taken a new roll at the AWCA; I am the men’s coach, which I am super excited about! We have a great team that wants to get better everyday striving to make the next steps in there ski careers. I also work very closely with the Alberta ski team and Alberta development team, which I am the head coach during camps, these kids really have great energy and always give me a smile working with them. We do focus on some ski specific workouts but we also try to have a lot of fun during our training camps.

I believe that we (Canada) all can continue our success in the ski world and I plan on helping all those that want to dream and strive for the top!
