Alysson started skiing around her front lawn when she was 20 months old and completed her first 8km loppet at age 4 ½ . She went through the jackrabbit and junior racing programs with the Larch Hills Team, coached by her mom, and later Lizzie Van Bergyk. She then trained with Doug Egan and the Sovereign Lake/Silver Star racing team for four years. In 2008, Alysson moved to Canmore to join the Alberta World Cup Academy. Ski highlights include competing at the 2007 World University Games and the 2008 World Junior Championships, and placing 12th at the 2009 World U23 Championships. She was also a gold and silver medalist at the 2007 Canada Games and a silver medalist at the 2009 Senior National Championships.

Outside of skiing, Alysson is slowly working on a Biochemistry degree at the University of Calgary. She plans to go to Medical School after finishing her ski career.
