    • CCC High Performance Coaching Seminar: four days left for early bird registration!

      Cross Country Canada would like to extend an invitation to high performance coaches from across North America to attend CCC’s high performance coaching seminar. CCC has assembled seven experts in sport physiology, psychology and   biomechanics  to  provide  insight  into  cutting  edge research  trends  and  best  practices  for  Cross Country Ski coaches.       As part of the seminar CCC will also be hosting a coaches’ panel discussion on Canadian junior and senior athlete development initiatives, presentations of key recommendations from CCC’s Junior Development Advisory Committee and solicitation of ideas for future improvements to national development programs. This event will be an opportunity for club coaches to work with CCC staff to build development programs.  The event will be followed by a coaches’ social/dinner and drinks.


      Seminar details and registration process

      Location: Seminar will take place in the Haig Room of the Bill Warren Training Centre located at 100-1995 Olympic Way, Canmore, Alberta

      Dates:  From May 6th (5pm start) to May 8th 2016.

      Coaches eligibility:

      Option A: Full program from Friday PM to Sunday PM. Coaches must have at least NCCP trained status for Comp-Intro advanced (T2T) context or equivalent (level 100 trained USSA certification). This requirement is to ensure that the seminar maintains its objective of being high performance orientated and the coaches have the necessary training to critically engage with the topics being presented.

      Option B: Friday PM round table with panelists + dinner + keynote presentation Saturday morning by Hans-Christer Holmberg. All coaches with NCCP credits in cross country skiing are welcomed.


      Option A: Full program* including Friday dinner = $250 early bird rate ending March 18th 2016; $300 from March 19th to April 30th 2016.

      Option B: Friday night round table with panelists + dinner + keynote presentation Saturday morning = $50

      *Full program cost also includes snacks and refreshments throughout the event

      NCCP Comp-Dev. Advanced context credits:

      For coaches looking to complete their sport specific tasks of the NCCP Comp-Dev. Advanced Gradation (CDAG), attending a CCC HP seminar will be a required learning activity. We intend to host CCC HP seminars every 2-3 years on average.  More details of CDAG sport specific tasks will be released in March of this year.
