St. John's, NF - The first day of the StatoilHydro sponsored Beckie Scott Youth Ambassador tour kicked off today with a significant contribution by StatoilHydro to Right to Play, one of the many social programs promoted by Beckie Scott.

Erik Abrahamsen, VP Eastern Canada for StatoilHydro made the official announcement at a staff meeting attended by Beckie in the morning.  Later Beckie addressed the St. John's Board of Trade, emphasizing the importance of engaging children across Canada in active lifestyles and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.  The theme of Making the Impossible - Possible resonated well in this east coast community that has evolved into one of Canada's most productive areas.

Beckie will continue her trip to St. John's with school visits on Friday, attendence at the Avalon Nordic Ski Club Jackrabbit and Challenge programs on Saturday morning and a community event Saturday afternoon at Pippy Park, one of the hidden gems of city skiing found anywhere in the country.

All are welcome at the Fluvarium at 2:00 pm for hot chocolate, cookies, ski games, face painting and a few team sprint events.
