Parasport Festival in Ottawa July 1st, 2012

    June 20, 2012

The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) is excited to take part in Canada’s 145th birthday celebrations by hosting a “Parasport Festival” at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau, Quebec.

The July 1st, 2012 events are designed to offer Canadians the chance try out several of parasports for themselves and discover all kinds of opportunities to get involved – whether as an athlete, coach, parent or volunteer.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public is invited to sign in at our “Get Involved” tent, receive an “accreditation” just as if you were at the Paralympic Games and then take part in sport demonstrations and activities.

    • Get autographs from top Paralympic athletes.
    • Check out adapted sport equipment used by athletes with a disability. For example: wheelchair basketball, boccia, wheelchair basketball, curling, adapted water ski and Para-Nordic skiing.
    • Find out how to get involved in parasport!
