One thing you may not know about me, is that I live with a somewhat complicated chronic autoimmune condition. Celiac Disease (CD) can have a deadly effect if not discovered and treated. Diagnosis starts with a blood test or a home testing kit and is confirmed with an upper bowel endoscopy. CD damages the inner lining of the small intestine and eventually prevents it from absorbing key nutrients from food.  There is no drug or surgery and the treatment is a special diet. Left untreated, CD can result in chronic fatigue and malnutrition.
