      The Callaghan Valley Training Centre (CVTC) has united en masse for the first time of the 2013/14 season in Whistler, BC. The official team announcement and introduction took place on Sunday, June 8 at the Cinnamon Bear Bar and Grille.


      The four returning members of the 9-person team are U-23 level athletes and are joined by one more U-23 athlete and four juniors. All nine athletes have aspirations of qualifying for World Championships in their respective categories. Geoffrey Richards, a three-year veteran of the Callaghan Valley Training Centre comments, “The 2013/14 team is as strong as it’s ever been. We are looking forward to a summer of hard training and some top results this winter.”

      Chris Manhard, CVTC Head Coach, is looking forward to integrating the team more into the Whistler community during the summer season to develop a sense of pride and excitement that will assist both the team’s performance and the local support of cross country skiing. “We are working hard to grow the team within the Whistler community. The support is really important for the athletes and will help them perform better this winter.”

      The National Development Centre - Callaghan Valley Training Centre(CVTC) is a high-performance training center working within the framework of Cross Country Canada.
