      Ottawa Citizen: Scott Hill said he was tired. Really tired, something to do with flying back to Canada from Europe less than 24 hours earlier.

      It was hard to tell, though, at least to the rest of the field in the 51-km classic race of the Gatineau Loppet on Saturday.

      A 21-year-old Thunder Bay resident and Lakehead University student just back from the world under-23 championships in Rasnov, Romania, Hill broke from the pack on the Fortune Lake Parkway midway through the course from Wakefield to Gatineau and held that advantage to the finish line. His winning time was 2 hours 27 minutes 33.9 seconds.

      Julien Locke of Nelson, B.C., another survivor of the journey to Gatineau from Romania, placed second in 2:28:10.2, followed by 2015 champion Ian Murray (2:28:58.6) and Erik Carleton (2:29:12.6) of Canmore, Alta., and Norway’s Petter Solenge Skinstad (2:30:55.6)...
