HOW WOULD A $5,000 CHAMPIONS FUND GRANT HELP YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IN SPORT?

Being a para athlete comes with a few more expenses to help maintain braces and support equipment. I would use this $5000 to keep equipment updated and get to more races outside the canadian world cups

WHAT FINANCIAL CHALLENGES AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO TAKE PART IN SPORT
      OR YOUR ORGANIZATION?

Living away from the main team I have more travel to venues. Whistler Olympic park however is only 2 hours away, is the closest biathlon range I can shoot on and time is limited going there due to prices of gas to drive back and forth.

WHAT BOUNDARIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO OVERCOME OR SEE OVERCOME FOR WOMEN IN SPORT?

Being a para athlete, I am considered to be at a disadvantage because I would be competing with one arm instead of two. However, I want to show the world not just that i am a strong and determined Para athlete but a strong women athlete! No matter the obstacles NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

SPORTS ARE IMPORTANT TO ME BECAUSE…

Sports have saved me from my injury. It is the one place that i don't feel like I have a "disadvantage" because I have one fully functioning arm. Sports give me life and it is something I want to to share with those in my community. Sports CAN change your life!!! :)
