      It was another damp and warm, +6 deg. C. day in Dresden, for the Team Sprint competition.

      Canada were represented by Bob Thompson and Lenny Valjas, starting in semi-final 1. It was a close race, with the top 9, separated by 3 seconds. Team Canada finished 7th, sandwiched between Sweden 2 and Italy 2.

      Unfortunately the 2nd semi-final was also close, and about 20 seconds faster, so only the top 2 teams moved on to the finals from heat 1.

      Norway won the finals, with Norway 2, coming through, less than a second later, for 2nd in a photo finish with 3 other teams. Canada finished 15th.
      Results

      There was no Canadian women competing. The women's final was also close. Sweden claimed 1st and there was a photo finish for the next 3 positions. Sweden also captured 2nd, with Norway beating the U.S. out of a podium position.

      Next weekend the World Cup circuit moves to Otepää, Estonia, for classic sprints and distance races.
