The weather continued to be cold, around -10 deg. C., as the 2nd day of the Western Canadian Championships took place at Telemark Ski Club, in Kelowna, B.C.

Today the main classes skied a common distance, mass start, with the men starting off on 3, 5k laps of classic technique.

The first 2 laps of the men's race saw junior skiers, Sam Hendry of Canmore and Remi Drolet of Black Jack skiing in the lead pack with Remi's senior teammate, Julien Locke.

After the 2nd lap, Hendry faded back a bit, while Julien tried to make a bit of a break on his teammate. It wasn't to be as Remi withstood the challenge and crossed the line with a comfortable 4 second lead on Locke. Sam Hendry was the 3rd finisher.

Ian Williams of Telemark was 4th, the 3rd Junior Man. Another Telemark skier, Alex McDonald, was the 2nd senior in 6th and Thomas Manktelow of Canmore was 8th, 3rd senior.
